We are different - it's all about the service
50plus Help is different to the vast majority of 'trade' web sites and far more than an intermediary between the customer and the service provider. We have our own service delivery staff in a number of areas, experts in our head office to provide support to customers and service providers and we take responsibility for the work undertaken. In the majority of cases we provide our customers with timed appointments. We also provide a broad range of specialised services, technical and practical support to both our customers and service providers. To put it simply: it's all about the service.
50plus Help is designed to be simple to use and transparent in operation. It provides a platform for locally based 'Service Providers' to connect with and provides services to people needing work done in their local community. The long established 50plus plumbing, electrical and handyman services are incorporated in and available to book through 50plus Help.
What about charges for services? 50plus Help is very open and we publish most Service Provider's service charges. The listed charges include a margin for 50plus Help to facilitate the operation of the service, including people to take calls, manage service provision, check and support Service Providers, the operation of the IT platform and VAT on the 50plus Help margin.
People needing help
50plus Help provides an online service to connect you with registered Service Providers. You can see approximately where they are based, some personal information such as DBS checks, what they charge and insurance. The service allows you to choose which Service Provider to book through the platform and then does all the booking work and job notification for you. A copy of a job booking is emailed to you as well as the Service Provider.
To 'book a job' simply click here and follow the instructions. If you need assistance call during office hours. The on-line service operates continuously.
Once the job is complete you pay 50plus Help using a card payment. The Service Provider is then paid by 50plus Help.
We are keen to expand the base of Service Providers who can assist with the provision of service. Follow the instructions to register your interest. Jobs are sent to you by email which, if required, you can get on your mobile. You can view your jobs, financial information and more online, once you have an account.
Why 'The 50plus'
The 50plus part of our name stems from the initial concept of the company which set out to provide employment opportunities for the mature workforce. Most of our long standing plumbing electrical and handyman services still deploy a mature workforce, some of whom are now well past 50 (we started in 2001).
Although our workforce now has a wider age demographic we still seek to offer opportunities to the more mature and the 50plus Help concept provides an excellent platform for Service Providers to work when and where it suits them, whilst supporting our customers, who can be of any age!
