50plus is seeking a Marketing Programme Executive based in the company's Chesham Bucks office.


09.30 -15.00 5 days per week

Introduction the The 50plus Organisation

The current Director set The 50Plus Organisation up over ten years ago, to provide a Handyman Service employing predominately mature experienced tradesmen and women. The business has developed to cover an extensive range of property maintenance and wider services to both the domestic and commercial sectors. The 50plus Organisation now covers a significant geography with a directly employed work force working out of our Chesham office plus a network of service providers across the country.

Context and purpose of the role

The Directors of the 50plus have undertaken a strategic review and have embarked on a programme to grow the business by 30% year on year. The role of the appointed Marketing Programme Executive will be to identify new business opportunities and to develop and deliver programmes that will meet the business objectives for these and our existing markets.

Tasks and responsibilities

  1. To research new business opportunities that are within the capabilities of the existing business
  2. To develop marketing programmes that will generate new business
  3. To execute the these programmes and monitor there effectiveness
  4. To develop budgets for the programmes and monitor expenditure inline with the agreed budget
  5. To mange the content of The 50plus own online magazine
  6. To develop a print version of The 50plus magazine and then actively sell advertising so that the magazine is cost neutral within 12 months
  7. To develop programmes to retain existing customers and to develop new business from them
  8. Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably required by the company.

  • Knowledge of marketing techniques
  • Knowledge of selling skills
  • The ability to work both independently on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of web and graphic design
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Experience of using e-mail, internet, word processing, and spread sheet packages, accurately and with good attention to detail
