There are a number of ways you may be able to work for or with 50plus. They are in summary:

As an Associate
As a Franchisee for 50plus Handyman
As a full or part time employee or contractor.

The different roles

50plus Handyman has 'in-house' operations, principally in Buckinghamshire, South Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley. In these area the company employs it's own Handymen and occasional part time or contract personnel. This means the company has ongoing experience of providing the 50plus Handyman service and can provide valuable guidance to Associates and Franchises.

Full or part time employees or contractors are deployed in 'in-house' areas only. Elsewhere 50plus Handyman deploys Associates or Franchisees.

There is a major difference between an Associate and a Franchise:

a Franchisee owns his or her area. The area is an asset which has a value and it can be sold at a later date
an Associate is effectively renting an area. A such it is not an asset and it cannot be sold.

50plus services to Associates and Franchisees

The 50plus Organisation provides a range of services to both Associates and Franchisees. These are in summary:

the 50plus brand and service portfolio
marketing and advertising support
unique pages on the 50plus web site
telephone answering
customer database and job tracking
technical advice and support.

The depth of service provision differs for Associates and Franchisees as set out in appropriate paragraphs below.

Associate

An Associate position is the entry level to running a 50plus business and offers the opportunity to undertake works generated by local advertising, the 50plus web site and other 50plus marketing activities.

Associates gain the benefit of the 50plus brand, marketing, their own web pages on the 50plus web site and being associated with a larger organisation. 50plus provides Associates with marketing support and arranges initial advertising to make the process of getting into business as simple as possible.

An Associate position does not require the capital investment a franchise requires and is effectively the rental of an area. Associates can upgrade to a franchise.

50plus seeks Associates who will be dedicated to the provision of high quality and consistent services to customers in the Associates field of expertise. Becoming an Associate is effectively working in partnership with 50plus.

Associates can offer one or more of the following services:

50plus Handyman property maintenance or a subset thereof
50plus Handyman gardening
50plus IT Support.

We will also consider personnel who wish to offer a particular service outside the above skill sets.

A 50plus handyman Franchise is an opportunity to run your own profitable and rewarding business in your locality with the benefit of a developing national brand, centralised telephone answering via a nation-wide local rate number, qualified technical support, marketing assistance, business/handout cards and marketing material, operating systems and training.

The focus from the first enquiry contact is on customer service so a high volume of repeat business is built up.

50plus Handyman offers the opportunity to either:

provides the majority of the 50plus Handyman service in area that can be served by a single person
provides the 50plus Handyman service with the potential to grow through employment of other staff.
