At the heart of our business sit our plumbing, electrical and handyman services.
50plus Plumbing includes plumbing and heating maintenance, installations, fault finding and repairs. The service ranges from small repairs such as tap washers through central heating to refurbishing bathrooms. For more details click here.
50plus electrical services range from small works and from fault finding and minor repairs to new sockets, lights and consumer units (fuse boxes) including works requiring Part P notification. For more details click here.

Pay As You Go charges for smaller jobs
Pay As You Go is designed for smaller reactive repair jobs. Charges vary by area, reflecting local operating costs. Our prices and whether or not VAT is applicable can be checked by creating a 50plus Help account here which will show the availability of all 50plus services and associated charges for your post code.
With the exception of Tiny Tasks our minimum charge is for one hour.
There is no call out fee and no mileage charge. Larger works are usually estimated. Fault finding is a chargeable task.

Day rates are designed for larger jobs over 8 hours or more and can attract substantial discounts. As with Pay As You Go, charges vary by area, reflecting local operating costs.
Materials and parts are charged at cost plus 20% if we purchase. Customers are welcome to supply their own materials and 50plus can advise on requirements.

If you need to postpone an appointment please let us know at least 24 hours in advance or on the previous Friday if the job is for a Monday.
If you do need to cancel an appointment please give us at least 24 hours notice or let us know by midday on the previous Friday if the job is for a Monday, otherwise a cancellation fee of the minimum one hour charge may be applicable.

Landlords, letting agents and commercial customers
Who provides the service
The service is provided locally by direct employees of our franchises and associates. Gas engineers are Gas Safe registered. 50plus is NICEIC registered for electrical work.
Where we offer service
We cover a good deal of the UK. Please create a 50plus Help account here which will show the availability of all 50plus services and associated charges for your post code.
Estimates are normally provided free of charge. Smaller jobs of up to a day in duration will normally be estimated over the telephone. Larger jobs may require a visit to enable an estimate to be provided.
50plus generally provides an estimate based on our professional judgement of the time and material required to undertake the work. With time and materials you pay for our time on an hourly basis (for each person employed on the project) and for any material we use during the course of the works.

Fault finding requiring the use of tools is a chargeable task.
