Competition and Prizes

Roy Abraham won our spring/summer 2019 competition and an hour of plumbing, electrical or handy works by correctly answering the question,  what is the frequency of the standard UK mains electricity supply (hint the answer is in Hertz and it is different to the USA)? The answer is 50Hz (Hertz).

Welcome to our Autumn 2019 competition. You too can win an hour of plumbing, electrical or handy works by answering the question: What is the name of the new service that 50plus is offering to assist with caring for and maintaining the independence of older people? Hint – it’s on the website!

The competition closes at 12:00 hours on Monday 2nd December. Correct answers submitted prior to this time and date will be entered into a draw from which the winner will be picked. The winner will be notified by email.

Competition Rules

The editor is deemed to be the web site editor of The 50plus Magazine.
The competition is open to registered members of Your 50plus, aged 18 or over, except employees and agents of The 50plus Organisation Ltd and 50plus Publishing Ltd and anyone connected with the competition. The Editor’s decision as to the eligibility of any party will be final.
No purchase is necessary.
Only entries using the stipulated email and having their email address registered as a Your 50plus member will be accepted.
We will accept only one entry per registered user. If more than one entry for the same issue is received, we will accept the first entry only. We cannot enter into correspondence with readers who experience difficulties with entering competitions online.
The 50plus cannot be held responsible for any loss in service of the online entry mechanism, nor can any responsibility be accepted for entries lost, delayed or corrupted due to computer error in transit.
There is no cash alternative to the specified prizes and no alternative prizes can be offered. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are delayed, damaged, mislaid or wrongly delivered. The winning entry will be the first correct answer(s) drawn for the number of prizes available. Prize winner(s) will be notified by email and the results published. Winners must agree to the publication of their name.
No correspondence can be entered into on any matters arising from the competition.
Names of winners and the results of the competitions will be available by email and may be published in relevant publications or on websites as space permits.
