COPAG – Chesham Over Fifties Position Action Group

COPAG was established in 2003, at that time a group of just four people in a sitting room with a jolly good idea.  It has now grown into a monthly meeting attended by upwards of 25 people. Held at the Town Hall with Barbara Richardson at the helm, it is a social, friendly gathering aimed at the over 50’s, giving them a place to spend time with other people who want to meet up and share interests and information.  They have had various speakers and demonstrations at the meetings over the years, most recently a talk called “Remember the 50’s” with clothes and other items from that era on display.  They also arrange away days to places of interest such as the beautiful gardens at Aston Potteries and the Frogmore Paper Mill at Apsley.  They are currently planning visits to the Naphill War Bunker and the Stanmore Priory Museum.   At Christmas some members visit the Elgiva to see the Pantomime and there is a Christmas meal and festive entertainment at the December meeting. If you fancy joining in then why not pop along to one of their meetings on the 3rd Friday of the month at 10.00 in the Community room at the Town Hall. There’s no need to book and you are guaranteed a friendly reception and an interesting sociable morning with a cup of tea and a biscuit.
