I hope you are all keeping warm and getting plenty of exercise? (But not in the rain!)
I was extremely pleased to welcome to our Christmas meeting one of our early members – Hilda Smeed. Hilda now resides at the Care Home, Chesham Leys, so it was a lovely surprise to see her escorted into the Town Hall by her Grandson, with her ever present smile. But sadly we have also lost one of our members just before Christmas – Jerry Shepherd. He had been attending our group for some years, and also joined us when we started up the pub lunch club, which I believe he thoroughly enjoyed, the food and the banter. Phil, Kate and myself went to the wake which was held in the meeting room as Townfield. Jerry, from all of us, RIP.
On a lighter note, our committee member Terry is in the process of getting our new trip organised to Uxbridge WW2 Bunker, then onto Bentley Priory for lunch in their café and possibly to look around. We haven’t decided a date yet but it should be around May/June/July time.
Warmest wishes to you all, Barbara
